Mowden 3rds started the new season with an encouraging game away against Houghton-le-Spring 1st XV. Mowden 3rds started the game with a strong squad, with ages varying from 18 to 47, two of the players being father and son combination Mark and Charles Phibin. Also in the team were the product of Mowden's very successful youth policy, including James Parks, Dan Carter, Scott Peacock, and Conehead.
